BALDOCK TOWN CC COLTS

2020 will be another very busy and exciting season as the youth section continues to expand. Training begins at Easter time, with sessions planned on Sundays until the school holidays.

2019 was another successful year, with around 70 children taking part in coaching and matches over the season. In addition, through our partnership with Richard Sell, we have been able to take cricket into a number of local schools which has in turn gained further interest in both the sport and our club in particular.

Our Under 11's are transitioning to hard ball cricket this year in the Hertfordshire Junior League and so will be able to use the nets using the equipment we have been able to purchase further to a grant from the local council. We would always appreciate more equipment however, so if anyone has kit – bats, pads, gloves etc – that they no longer use I know we will be able to put them to good use!

In addition, we also have our Under 9 team who will be playing non- competitive games in the Hertfordshire Junior League. All the children involved played a year underage last year and coped very well, so we have high hopes that they continue their development and gain a few more wins.

All the players playing league cricket started with us by attending All Stars Cricket, and this will continue for a fourth successive season. We aim to have another 40 children of 5-8 years of age taking part in eight sessions from 31st May at Avenue Park, and places are being booked fast!
